Rare Bird

Richard in N.O.

This is a neat little button I dug recently. It is a rare Charles Bellinot Pelican button made in New Orleans. Bellinot was a die maker with a shop in the city's French Quarter.

Hey, that's a really cool button, Richard! I've never seen one before. What kind of site did you find it at?

Neat find! Thanks for sharing! thumbsup01

I would really like to see a photo of the back.

That is a really super looking Louisiana made button. You have yourself a fine piece of local memorabilia there.

Question: are you still keeping it on the nightstand while you sleep? ha ha

To answer a few questions: It was found at the site of an old Louisiana Plantation and i was made sometime between 1852 and 1860. The backmark is C.Bellenot at the trop of the button back and then N.O. with a star on each side of N.O.
