SWEET Victorian/Edwardian Gimmel Fedde Ring!!

So I snuck out for a couple hours on Easter and managed to score this BEAUTIFUL Gimmel ring. I had never heard of these before I found this. Doing the research on it was pretty fun. Apparently these type of rings started up in the 1500's, later in the 1700's the Irish Claddagh rings came about.

I think the concept is pretty neat, the man and the women would wear one half of it until their wedding day. Then the two halves would be pinned together and the women would wear it as their wedding band.

Here's link with more information:

While searching around I found two different identical listings for this ring, one for $225 and one for $260, not that I'll be selling this. My wife has already allowed me to bring it to my next club meeting to show off, then it's hers! :)

Enjoy

Excellent looking ring, thanks for the history also. It's nice that your wife is letting you borrow it for your club meeting. I have given my wife some jewelry and thats the last I see of it.

Like the others have said, thanks for the history lesson! |)

:shocked03: It goes without saying that it is a beautiful ring, but I won't let the wonderful photography go without a comment. You did a wonderful job. |) |) |)

I found it at an old elementary school, which also has some old farm fields near it. This ring was found on the far edge of one of the ball fields, within a couple feet of an old stone wall that boarders the ball field and a farm field.
