It had been a month since I last got out to swing the coil. Sometimes life just gets in the way of the stuff we really like to do:yes:. I hit a chunk of woods not too far from a cellar hole I have had good luck at.

I started hitting lamp parts and horse hardware pretty quickly. First nice find was the WW1 collar pin that I posted yesterday. Just a few minutes later I nailed an 1833 Capped Bust dime. First silver of the year for me . First Capped Bust dime too. :happydance01:

The rarest find of the day was probably this Eastern Box turtle. Getting pretty scarce around here. First one I have seen in 4 or 5 years. This was a female who probably laid her eggs in the nearby sandy soil.

Not far from the turtle and near the old cellar hole, I pulled what I think is a toatsted KG halfpenny and what looks like farthing that was burnt in a fire.

I was happy just to get out in the woods. Making some good finds was a nice bonus!

Stay safe!
