today's relics -- musket ball?

Dug a couple more buttons and a round ball of what I am assuming is cast lead or lead alloy (VDI +48). (The dime is just for comparison, did not dig that today).

Poking around the net it looks like other pictures of musket balls I saw, but seems a wee bit small? (about .55 inches). If it isn't a musket ball, not sure what it is . No Revolutionary War battles near this site that I am aware of, so who knows?

Sure, that a Musket Ball thumbsup01 Not too small, since there are a couple of different calibers. No need for a Rev Camp or battle nearby either. Muskets were used by common people in everyday hunting for many years. Great find.

looks like one to me, common civilian muskets were probably around the .50 caliber size and some of the military ones were .58 , .63 , .69 , and .72 caliber . either way thats alot of hot lead punching a hole in ya .

Yep, I'd say that's a musket ball. Looks like most of the ones I've found around here.
Nice find, buttons too!

Jamie.
