Todd & me decided to go back up the the virgin cabin site we found last week.man it was a warm one today.things were going slow for a good part of the day scrubbing our coils through a jungle of bar berry bushes then the coils got warmed up I walked away with 2 KG III's one being a 1766 Hibernia that has a counterstamped # 2 on the obverse.Todd got 3 coins so,that makes 12 large coppers from this site. a few buttons one is a plain tombac and a old pocket knife piece.we are gonna wait to go back till the fall

very sweet site its turning out to be a great spot. you find the barn yet??
no structures other than a well and a ton of nails near well. it hadda be a lone cabin site.thought for sure we'd hit a couple reales.the time frame is perfect but maybe these people had very little and weren't very well off

Nice amount of coppers. Out of all the King George coppers, I love the KG III's the best. At least with those, you may get lucky and get some Machin Mills varieties.

:shocked03: Oh a Hibernia, cool. Man I look like pig pen...what a mess lol
I gotta clean my coins up I'll post in a bit

Nice pictures and hunt. :congrats: on grabbing some more coppers from that nice site. Once I saw the picture of Todd I thought, man is that man dirty.

As I responded to Todd's post I have to say it here also......my hats off to you for braving the heat and humidity.
