Lodge Scent

Headed back to the site where I pulled a NJ copper a few weeks back. This site is badly overgrown and I figured this might be the last weekend to detect before it is impossible to swing a coil.

How thick is it ? Well it is so thick that Mrs. Turkey made her nest right on the edge of the cellar hole.

I saw her sneaking back to the nest when I moved to the other side.
First good hit was an 1837 token.

I may need some help with the ID.
I pulled an ox knob right from the middle of the brook without managing to fall in.

In a really thick patch of briars I managed to find an 1848 and an 1839 Large Cent.

Glad I was detecting alone today because I would have bet my house to anyone with me that the slotted scythe handle thing was another copper. This site has given up a few of those.

And what's a hunt with out a deer tick. See if you can spot it.

Stay safe!
