silver key and quarters

Decided to try a new spot today that looked very promising (and was a bit of a drive), but it was picked clean :bangahead01:. They didn't even leave me many zincolns, much less any deep silver. After about an hour and half of that, and 87 cents in clad, I decided to hit my backup site in the area, which is another promising site I hit in the spring with another machine, and found nothing but deep clad.

I had better luck there today with the E-Trac, finding a handful of wheaties and a silver washington :happydance01:, and this cool silver key  (about an inch long, maybe it is a charm, or maybe it opened a music box or something). All the older targets were very deep, giving iffy signals (even some of the deep clad was like that). This site has sandy soil, which I imagine promotes faster sinking, so it is going to be tough to get the rest of the silver, but we'll give it a go after the next soaking rain. I had the E-Trac cranked to 30 (usually I run it at 26); not that I noticed much of a difference, really. It was straining to hit these targets, but we haven't had rain in a while.

The SLQ I found on Friday at a different site -- a small, tucked away park from the 50s. Was quite surprised to find the SLQ (at only 4 inches), and right near a ballfield, at this park.

That key is pretty ornate. :shocked04: Nice couple of quarters. The finds are few, but some nice ones. I hate deep clad :ticked: lol

Awesome quarters! :happydance01:

I would love to add one of the SLQ's to my collection... just haven't been able to do it yet.

The silver key is very unique.

Great hunts! :clapping:

That key is a really great find... and the quarter would have me grinning for a week! Congrats!
