Sunday Hunt / 1800s Toy Cork Gun

Digger Don

Today, Alec and I met up with Zrickkid to do a little door knocking. We met up about 12:30 this afternoon and started free styling looking for a permission. It took a little while, but we finally got a yes at a house that was built in 1876.
Alec was first on the board with an 1881 Indian head. He also dug a couple of toy cars and 4 wheats.
I followed with a 1945-S War nickel and 4 wheats.

My coolest find of the day was an old toy cork pop gun. When I pulled it out I had no idea what it was. Ricky said he found part of one a while back and that it was pop gun from around the 1870s. I haven't been able to find one on google yet.
All in All, another great day and a couple of keepers to boot.

Another great hunt guys. That cork gun is sweet, may want to put that in safe keeping might be a rare piece!:thumbsup02:

The fact the toy gun extends, it does look like it would be a cork gun. The indian is in great shape. Weird theres a big gap in dates tho of the coins.

You guys got some nice old coins, but that antique cork gun is the find of the day in my book. I've never seen anything like it. Very cool that the plunger rod still moves too.

:congrats:

That's a cool find Don! It's the unusual items like that, that make for a good hunt if you ask me.:thumbsup01:
You guys even bagged some nice old coins!
Congrats fellas!!

Thanks Tim. Your right, even though I go after coins, finding a cool relic like that just makes my day.

The kind of hunt we all hope for, old coins, silver, relics...you're starting off where you left off last year....keep it up!
