It whispered from 8 inches below...

I did it! I managed to get out!
By the time we got to the field the sun was threatening us with its descent.
I scurried around seeking deeper signals. Three of them I lost but didn't have time to play.
I filled the hole, moved on to the next signal... lost it, filled it and moved on, etc ....
Finally... a signal I was seeking but it was faint.
I slowed my sweep and the signal (+78) was at a tiny spot. It was whispering, but I know that signal...
It pinpointed at 8 inches. At this location, a signal like this at that depth is always good. I smiled before I started digging.
I pulled up this 1888 Seated Dime ... I did a teeny dance and daddy came over to see.
Good! I'm frozen to the bone ~ Let's go! he said.

I knew the dime was in good shape, but was disappointed with the scratches.
The first pic is of the dirty dime with a button I had found.
The next two pics are of the dime after a simple rinse under tap water and a very soft toothbrush.

I was happy with the results of this half-hour field time.
It was worth the pain I'm enduring, as well. I worked too hard moving heavy furniture today. Bursitis blows.

Wow! :shocked04: In a half hour you find a seated dime? That's excellent! thumbsup01

I told you that you needed to get out! ;)

Nice dime Snowy! Next time daddy wants to head back early tell him............search mode /hold trigger/press menu/ and adjust for skim.......... thumbsup01 and also he needs a good pair of gloves....Gil

I know, huh? Leaving right after finding that wasn't fun, but the sun was fading fast.
Besides... I had at least gotten out.... Epi told me I had to!
Yeah, this place has the potential to produce several silvers in a short amount of time,
and sometimes you'll go days without finding one.

Gil, it's definitely time to dig out the fall detecting apparel.
Still decent, but boy those shaded areas are definitely colder than in the sun.

I was surprised at the conditon of this one and figured it had been dropped when it was new. Scratches on it are a bummer, but I'll still take it!

beauty of a coin Snowy, congrats and glad you made it out .

now why can't i have half hour hunts like that

Dan

Location?
This is my favorite location to hunt.

Thanks, Del. I really needed it, like Epi said.
Felt good to get out, even if it was just for a short amount of time.
I thought we were gonna hit a rec park but Krom kept driving.
I asked him where we were going and he said he didn't know.
I had asked about this place before we left, but was afraid to say anything
because he looked like he was on a mission.

It's hardly even worn! Beautiful coin Donna. I wonder what caused the scratches?

Now next time get out for longer than a half hour. That is an order

Congratulations on a very nice seated, Donna. It's a KEEPER for sure.

I love those MXT whispers...they're always good.

Thanks guys!
I'll tell ya what, cat... when I find another 1888 seated dime in better condition, I'll mail ya this one. How's zat?!

Epi, the only thing I can think of that would have put the scratches on it is maybe a tractor of some sort...

That's awesome!!! Way to go with just concentrating on the deep whisper's thumbsup01 Finding that dime in thirty minutes is impressive, nice job!

'Snot fair. I dig a gold ring... 2 minutes later, you shut me up with a rightous seated! 'Snot fair, I tell ya! :(
